Growing up in the San Diego area, Susie earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Whittier College. She has been involved with non-profit organizations her entire life and was employed as a professional non-profit manager from 1981 until her retirement in 2006. She has served as the top paid executive of the Whittier College Alumni Association, the West Covina Chamber of Commerce, and most recently, the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce. She is a founder of Leadership Coachella Valley. |

LenaL.L Wade, a partner of Slovak Baron Empey Murphy & Pinkney LLP, is an experienced public agency & litigation lawyer, having practiced for nearly 20 years. Ms. Wade has represented counties, cities, public housing authorities, and various quasi-public and private entities. Ms. Wade advises her public agency clients by counseling their governing boards during regular and special meetings, and also by providing legal counsel on a day-to-day basis. Ms. Wade regularly advises public agency clients on the Brown Act, conflicts of interest, public contracts, procurement, the Public Records Act, business licensing, code enforcement, labor and employment, redevelopment, zoning, planning and land use. Ms. Wade is also an experienced litigator with a winning track record on significant matters. |

Kathy Webb, Director
Kathy Webb and her husband moved to Palm Desert in February of 2020 but have been vacationing in the desert for the past fifteen years. Kathy retired in 2020 after 20 years as Executive Director of United Cerebral Palsy/WORK, Inc., a large nonprofit organization serving over five hundred children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Santa Barbara County. As the Executive Director, Kathy and her team created groundbreaking services for people with disabilities, in addition she was responsible for all operations, including five high-level adult residential facilities, extensive vocational training and employment programs, supported living and children’s services.
Kathy has received accolades from the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, for creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities to work at Hearst Castle and San Simeon State Beach, in addition, Kathy received acknowledgment from the California National Guard for opening the Camp Bob Café, which continues to operate as a training venue and a springboard towards meaningful employment. Kathy, who is a licensed residential administrator with an extensive background in human resources, has worked in human services since 1974. Kathy, her husband and her two lovable rescue dogs are loving life here in the desert, and when they are not in the Coachella Valley, they are in Pismo Beach visiting their daughter Jennifer and granddaughter Skylar. “I am impressed with the mission and impact of DBFC, and I am excited to join this great board in support of this wonderful organization!” |
