From Employment Services Counselor Linda S.:
"One of my 23-year old clients has never worked. She had no appropriate clothing and no hopes for a job given our economy. I put her at a community service site where she could learn office skills. They wanted her to dress professionally. So, she found some blouses/sweaters and a pair of heels, which she immediately started wearing. She was most grateful.
By the way, she is truly blossoming in her "office job," she now types 20+ wpm and increases each week. She answers the phone and is learning other general reception type work.
Just the few things she was able to find at the clothes closet were a big boost to her morale. Thank you Desert Best Friend's Closet for your donation."
From Tim S. in response to our first annual children's clothing drive:
"First, please understand how incredibly grateful we are to Desert Best Friend's Closet. You make a positive contribution to people's lives; for that we applaud you. This clothing is going to make a big difference in many of our students's lives and in their parents's lives as well. We like to think, as an educational institution, that we are helping to change the world one child at a time. Thank you for helping to change our students's worlds one shirt at a time."
