Clothing Drive Info
Thank you for volunteering to organize a clothing drive in your neighborhood or at work!  Donated clothing is distributed to individuals receiving services by CAL/GAIN, Shelter From the Storm, or other agencies.  Some donated items may also be selected to be sold as merchandise to support Desert Best Friend's Closet.  Please consider donating "high-end" clothing, handbags, or other accessories for this purpose.
Getting Started:
    Whether big or small, any successful clothing drive requires organization.  For large-scale clothing drives (12 or more people) it is strongly recommended to form a committee to enlist help from the very beginning.

    Who?         Consider establishing a Clothing Drive Coordinator.  We
                     provide a step-by-step guide to help you!

    When?        Select drive dates--be sure to confirm dates with
                      Desert Best Friend's Closet before beginning!  Most
                      people need a minimum of 10 - 14 advance notice to
                      clean out their closet.

    Where?       Decide where people will bring their donated items.
                      Is the room large enough?  Who has access to the
                      room?

    How?         Determine how people will receive receipts.  Enlist
                     volunteers to help load Desert Best Friend's Closet's
                     vehicles.
